unit 3 assignment 2 (treatment first draft )

Treatment

My documentary is aimed at the general public but to be more specific its main target audience girls and boys from kids, teenagers to young adults along with men and women16-34. It will be aimed at a mainstream audience because I want everybody to watch and enjoy it not just a niche audience but a more general audience such as the mainstream audience.

In order to target the mainstream audience my documentary will contain popular music but not just any specific type like just rock or rap, the music that will be used will be from the charts therefore the mainstream audience will know it and will be drawn to it. For kids and teenagers the footage of other kids their age (students from Denton community college) will interest them and hook them, but I will also use a rather more modern language instead of too specific just so they can relate to it and not feel like it’s a documentary aimed at aged people.

My documentary will be better for other young people because it will be relatable from the music in it, language to its content.

The plot of my documentary is simple, I will be explaining what goes on in the post pre-production stages of the shows that Denton community college has, how they prepare for them, who choreographs the dances, who picks which dancers that are going to perform and how are they picked, how long and how hard do they rehearse to be ready for the show, I will also be explaining the great advantages that dance can offer to a community using my research such as it gives the community and everyone involved in the
Show a sense of unity entertains people, brings different societies together and many more….
The people that will take part in my documentary will be all the senior staff that are involved in the show at Denton Community College such as Claire Evans, James day and many more, the dancers too will be part of it along with some of the general public members that have been to any of the schools previous shows. My documentary will be done as a participatory documentary as I will engage everyone involved in as I either interview or hangout with him or her.

My audience will learn the importance of dance to a community such as the research about the kids in the refugee camps and how dance helped them escape their troubles and find happiness, they will learn all the work that goes in preparing a dance show at Denton community college, how the staff and dancers at Denton community college prepare and perform, how the fund the shows and promote them and they will also learn how dance has impacted the lives at Denton community college but the biggest lesson of all will be …..As long as community and society lives on there will always be dance as it is the most absolute way that every community or society celebrate or unite by dancing with each other, just like we learned in my research about king James party and all his guests that danced all night all different cultural dances such as ballroom and more.
